About Somm Happiness

I am a certified somm -- LEVEL 3 AWARD WITH MERIT -- from Wine Education Spirit Trust (WSET), the top British wine education program in the world. My wine education has been unique because I obtained my certifications (I also hold an intermediate certificate in wine with distinction) at the International Wine Center in New York. 

After founding the successful, Los Angeles-based language services company Inaword Inc. and serving corporate clients, I moved into a career in wine. At Frederick Wildman & Sons, a storied NY importer & distributor of fine wine, I managed a diverse wine portfolio in Metro NY, with emphasis on Burgundy & fine wines from classic & and emerging of wine production.

I am the author of poetry collections, Father Elegies ’24 and One Strange Country ’20 (What Books Press). I hold creative writing degrees in poetry:  a bachelors from USC, an M.F.A. from NYU. My work is widely published in literary journals: featured in Tupelo Quarterly, Four Way Review, Poet Lore, among others. At Washington Square Review, I served as poetry, features, and assistant fiction editor.
